If there is one place that is a must to visit if you are in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area, it is the Shed ( http://www.theshedbbq.com/). It has the best BBQ that can be found anywhere. It is located on Highway 57 in Ocean Springs.
I have been there more then a few times. On the Menu they have Slow Smoked Brisket, Serious Sausage, Mouth Watering Ribs and Pulled Pork Plates. In the sandwich department they have 1/4 and 1/2 pound Brisket, Pork, Chicken, Sausage or Baby Back sandwiches. You can get a topper of Cole Slaw that really makes it a Shed Sandwich. The sides you can order (I have had everyone of the sides and they are great) are G-Maw Beans, Creamy Cole Slaw, Macked Out Mac Salad and Chuck's Potato Salad. The Shed also has a large selection of Beer. If a cold brew is not your style you can enjoy a nice glass of Ice Tea.
The Service is also very interesting. You order your meal from a window or at the bar. The Kitchen then prepares the meal . A server will come out of the Kitchen calling your name inside the bar. If you are not inside the bar area they go outside where there are picnic tables to sit at.
On my last visit of June 22, I ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich (with a topper of Slaw of course) with sides of G-Maw Beans and Macked Out Mac Salad. I enjoyed a nice local beer called Southern Pecan. I left there very satisfied and the cost was around $16.00. The service was also good.
If you live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have not made a visit to the Shed, shame on you. If you ever travel near the Coast a stop at the Shed is a must. They have a site that you can camp out at also. I give this a 4 1/2 forks out of 5.
